Brooklyn Bridge and The Met
A day of doing the tourist thing.
After breakfast at the hotel we jumped onto the subway and headed towards Brooklyn Bridge. A short walk (and some coffee) later and we were walking over in the morning sunshine. It was a pleasant walk, with a touch of wind keeping us cool enough to not overheat.
Bridge walk accomplished, we once more headed underground to the subway towards uptown and The Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art). I didn't take a lot of photos, preferring to actually enjoy looking at the amazing art.
After The Met we wandered around Central Park, made friends with a very hopeful squirrel who ran around our feet, and visited Belvedere Castle.
It was a little mission trying to find somewhere to eat - not because there aren't plenty of places to eat, but the first place we wanted to try had closed down permanently, and the second place was closed for a private event. We ended up at lovely Italian restaurant between Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges with a view of the Manhattan Bridge at sunset.
We then walked back to the subway, got near the hotel, and walked the rest of the way.
18,000 steps today. I feel several centimetres shorter.
